The Minister of National Defense, Ionut Mosteanu, said that during the Denmark-held meeting of the defense ministers of the EU states, he supported the essential directions for the security of Romania and Europe.
"I supported the flexibility of the legislation in order to expedite investments in the capabilities of the defense industry. Europe and Romania must develop their defense industry to face a future threat. We must have a level of endowment that deters any aggressor. The objective is clear: to build new factories and partnerships in Romania", declared Mosteanu, according to a post on Facebook.
The Minister of Defense said the simplification of evaluation mechanisms so that SAFE financing becomes a successful model and called for the allocation of substantial funds for military mobility - roads, highways, bridges, railways and dual-use intermodal capacities.
"We also discussed, of course, Ukraine and the joint effort we are making to support it, because Ukraine is now the priority of European defense. Only together can we ensure the security of the continent," Mosteanu added.
