Three-month ROBOR index falls to 6.57% per annum on Friday

The three-month ROBOR index, which is used to calculate the cost of consumer loans in Romanian lei with variable interest rates, fell on Friday to 6.57% per annum, down from 6.60% per annum in the previous session, according to data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
At the beginning of this year, the index stood at 5.92% per annum, agerpres reports.
The six-month ROBOR index, used to calculate interest on variable-rate mortgage loans in lei, decreased to 6.72% per annum from 6.73% in the previous session. while the 12-month ROBOR reached 6.89%, down from 6.90% per annum on 28 August 2025.
As for the reference index for consumer loans (IRCC), regulated by Emergency Ordinance No. 19/2019, it currently stands at 5.55% per annum. This rate is calculated as the arithmetic average of daily interbank interest rates from the first quarter of 2025, a level similar to that of the previous quarter.
