CIS Gaz signs memorandum of cooperation with Egyptian gas transmission company Town Gas
CIS Gaz continues the process of expanding and consolidating its presence in Egypt and has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Town Gas, the largest gas transmission company in Egypt.
According to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Thursday, through this memorandum the two companies will jointly support mutually beneficial projects in the area of natural gas transmission.
CIS Gaz participated, between October 9 and 11, with the support of the Romanian Embassy to the Arab Republic of Egypt, in extensive discussions with two of the most important Egyptian companies in the energy sector, Town Gas and EGAS, which develop complex projects in the public and private energy sector, in areas such as Cairo (gas supply station of the New Cairo district, operated by Town Gas) or Alexandria (gas supply station of the city of Alexandria, operated by Town Gas).
According to the quoted source, together with EGAS, the national company that operates the natural gas transmission network in Egypt, options for the completion of the Hayah Karima project, run by the Egyptian Government, in which CIS Gaz is a supplier of equipment manufactured in Romania, were analysed. Hayah Karima is a national project run by the Egyptian government through which more than 1,400 villages will be connected to the natural gas network.
CIS GAZ is a 100% privately owned Romanian company founded in 1990 and is currently one of the most important players in the oil and gas industry in Romania. Since 2022, CIS Gaz has also been a member of The International Pipe Line and Offshore Contractors Association.
