The European Commission report on the progress made by Romania under the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism (CVM) finds an impressive account in respect to solving the medium and high level corruption cases, recommending keeping the efforts of the judicial institutions in this respect, reads a National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA) release sent to Agerpres on Wednesday.
"At the same time, the report draws the attention on the strong attacks directed against magistrates and the judicial system by the media and politicians, defining them as "a serious threat to the irreversibility of the fight against corruption," and notes that in 2016 the attacks on the DNA became highly intense," the documents mentions.
