The national budget for 2025 supports economic growth and makes sure wages and pensions are paid for, Finance Minister Tanczos Barna announced in a social media post, mentioning that investments will exceed 7% of GDP and all rights earned by the end of 2024 will be paid for, informs Agerpres.

"We support economic growth and make sure wages and pensions are paid for. We have outlined the financing priorities for each area, together with the ministers of agriculture, defence, development, justice, economy, labour, energy, environment and health, continuing the discussions in the coming days. As we have pledged, we pay out all the rights earned by the end of 2024. For pensions alone, we have allocated almost RON 169 billion, as against RON 152 billion in 2024, and RON 126 billion in 2023," wrote Tanczos.

He added that investments will exceed 7% of GDP to support the country's economic growth and development.

"In the field of agriculture, the priorities remain supporting the development of the livestock sector, the continuation of the INVESTALIM programme and funding the irrigation systems. At the Ministry of Economy, we continue the massive support for entrepreneurs under the Start-up Nation and Construct PLUS programmes, and the defence industry will receive over 2% of GDP this year as well. At the Ministry of Transport, we continue to increase the funding allocated to investments, as in previous years. In 2025, the ministry will have at least RON 31 billion for investments against RON 26.1 billion in 2024 and RON 16.4 billion in 2023. From this budget, RON 20 billion are allocated to road infrastructure, which will materialise in highways, expressways and the improvement of the national road network."
