The target of 2,000 MW installed by prosumers was exceeded on August 31, as a total of 2,058 MW were installed, the president of the National Energy Regulatory Authority, George-Sergiu Niculescu, announced on Friday.
"I have just received the situation regarding the number of prosumers that are connected, a situation completed on August 31, 2024, and I want to inform you that we have exceeded the target of 2,000 MW installed. There are a total of 2,058 MW. Basically, this shows us that, through the measures that the Romanian Government took at the end of 2021, more and more Romanians want to become prosumers and produce their own energy that they consume, thus being able to substantially reduce their expenses with the utilities they have in their households," Niculescu said through a video message posted on Facebook.
He emphasized that ANRE backs the "phenomenon" of prosumers and will continue to support them.
