Ombudsman Renate Weber said she had sent official letters to many institutions to allow access to people who are not vaccinated against COVID.
"We have sent countless official letters to many institutions to see to what extent they have been able to organize themselves, so that even people who do not have a certificate attesting to vaccination or having been through the disease or the test can - I do not know - pay taxes, get information and so on," Renate Weber told a news conference on Wednesday.
She noted that, as a result of the Ombudsman's questions, the institutions often arranged their space in such a way as to allow access for those not vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2.
Renate Weber explained that the restrictions on access to public institutions are set by a Government decision, so the Ombudsman cannot contest them.
"When we go to the Constitutional Court with notifications, it is always for an ordinance, an emergency ordinance or a law (...). On the other hand, as long as the Government decision is a normative act, obviously we, as a public institution must respect it. (...) We have always said (...) - people who feel wronged by these provisions of the Government decisions to extend the state of alert must address the courts," added Renate Weber.
