Ordinance on establishment of compensation scheme for energy consumption, adopted by Senate

Senators adopted on Monday, with 101 votes "for", 24 abstentions and one vote "against", the Government Emergency Ordinance on establishing a compensation scheme for the consumption of electricity and natural gas for the cold season 2021-2022.

"The amendments brought by the draft normative act will determine the granting of support schemes for domestic and non-domestic consumers, in order to ensure at economic and social level a high level of protection of life, health and security of consumers, as well as guaranteeing their right to continuation of activity and day-to-day life under decent conditions. The amendments to the draft normative act will also support economic agents facing sharp increases in electricity and gas prices and ensure the sustainability of the national economy, avoiding major dysfunctions in the production and distribution chains on all market segments from the processing industry to the consumer market," shows the admission report on the draft law on the approval of Government Emergency Ordinance no 3/2022 for the amendment and supplementing of Government Emergency Ordinance no.118 / 2021 on the establishment of a compensation scheme for the consumption of electricity and natural gas for the cold season 2021-2022, as well as for the supplementing of Government Ordinance no. 27/1996 on granting facilities to persons residing or working in some localities in the Apuseni Mountains and in the "Danube Delta" Biosphere Reserve, Agerpres.ro informs.
