Senate Speaker Nicolae Ciuca believes that it is 'absolutely necessary' for the authorities 'to stop with the reactive behaviour', informs Agerpres.
'There is the war in Ukraine, there is the conflict in the Middle Wast, there are restrictions against free navigation on the Black Sea, there are all kinds of problems in terms of energy safety, as you probably noticed, in the context in which the European Union discusses more and more about this issue and about this goal of ensuring energy safety and independence. There is also food safety that we are concerned with, with increasing discussions existing on this topic too and (...) discussions about the safety of the environment. These are matters that no one can foresee, which is why all government structures, including local authorities, need to work together to deal with them, in order to have the necessary instruments at their disposal, when needed. Also, the authorities need to talk with the citizens in order to be able to intervene together to solve such matters,' Nicolae Ciuca told a press conference on national safety organized by CONAF and Digi 24 television broadcaster on Monday.
He also added that state institutions together with the civil society and 'with every other entity that has the relevant experience' need to find solutions against these threats.
